Our story

My father, Jaysukh Kakkad, has been making sweets for more than fifty years. I have spent mine writing for the screen. For a long time, I thought those were two different worlds.

His world runs on one rule: if what goes inside is not right, nothing on the outside can fix it. No artificial colour. No artificial flavour. No cheaper substitute. For him, work is a yagya, and over the years it has given him a great many recipes.

My world mostly runs on waiting, rewriting and hearing no. On those days, I always reached for something sweet. Over time I noticed I wasn’t the only one. Everyone has those days. But sweets are made for festivals, weddings and good news. Nobody makes them for the hard days.

That is where our two worlds met. I had the story, and he had the recipes. He opened up a few of them for this, and TRIGRRR began.

We make these toffees the way he has always worked: real saffron, real nuts, nothing fake. And we want to sell them the same way, honestly. No big promises. A toffee will not fix your day. It is a small good thing for a not so good day.
